Josef Koudelka, born in Moravia, made his first photographs as a student in the 1950s. In 1968 Koudelka photographed the Soviet invasion of Prague. He was anonymously awarded the Overseas Press Club’s Robert Capa Gold Medal for those photographs. Significant exhibitions of his work have been held at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Hayward Gallery, London; the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art, Amsterdam; and the Palais de Tokyo, Paris.

Simon Norfolk was born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1963. Afghanistan - Chronotopia, won a European Publisher’s Award, an award from the Foreign Press Club of America and was nominated for the Citibank prize. His work appears regularly in the New York Times Magazine and the Guardian Weekend.

Judah Passow has been working on assignments since 1978. His work has been published extensively by leading British newspapers, he has also contributed regularly to Time, Newsweek and the New York Times. A winner of four World Press Photo awards for his coverage of conflict in the Middle East, and nominated for the 2008 Deutsche Börse Photography Prize, his photographs have been extensively exhibited throughout the world.

Projected images will present a nostalgic journey from the German bombing of St Peter Port on 28th June 1940, through the dark years of military occupation and onto the joyous liberation of the island on 9th May 1945.
